Santo Domingo. Under the motto “Stars in the Dark” and in the framework of World Environment Day, Public and private companies will be recognized for the first time in the Dominican Republic highlighted in the implementation of sustainable practices in their operations whose names will be announced on the day of the event.
The initiative, which simultaneously seeks to raise funds in favor of communities that still do not have access to electricity and potable water, is carried out by the Nature Power Foundation under the auspices of the City Council of the National District (ADN), the Association for the Promotion of Energies Renewables (ASOFER) and ECORED, with the aim of encouraging organizations to continue implementing sustainable practices that benefit to the environment and support the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.
The funds raised in Stars in the Darkness 2019 will be used in the development of the first sustainable community in the region in The Caribbean, Nature Village, located in the province of Azua that will operate entirely with solar panels.

Nature Power Foundation promotes the creation of alliances in the implementation of innovative initiatives and projects IN the Republic Dominican and the Caribbean, focused on the local economic development of communities. It essentially represents the shared will not to leave anyone excluded; where disadvantaged people have an opportunity for life, which can be sustainable, fair, environmentally responsible and that generates links to the territory and its culture. That’s the best way to promote the development of our countries and carry a message of hope.
